About Keep Families Together
We advocate for families and promote a bill, HR3590, “The Indonesian Family Refugee Protection Act” written and sponsored by U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (NY), that will simply lift the 1-year deadline for asylum cases for Indonesian citizens fleeing violence between January 1, 1997 and November 30, 2002. Because of the deadline, their cases have been denied without being heard, and they are ordered to leave the U.S. Why did they miss the deadline? They didn’t know they needed to file for asylum when they escaped with their lives. Today they have invested tens of thousands of dollars to fight in court for their lives, their family unity and their religion.
